Words whose initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

  • Application (or "App") refers to Caloria, the mobile software program provided by the Company for iOS and Android platforms.

Types of Data Collected

1. User Account Data

  • Email address (required for authentication)
  • Authentication tokens from third-party providers (Apple, Google)
  • User ID (automatically generated by Our backend service, Supabase)
  • Account creation and update timestamps

2. User Profile Data

  • Daily nutritional targets (calories, protein, carbs, fat)
  • Onboarding information (collected during initial setup)
  • User preferences and settings

3. Food and Nutrition Data

  • Food photos (captured via camera or selected from photo library)
  • Meal names and descriptions
  • Nutritional information (calories, protein, carbs, fat)
  • Ingredient details (name, amount, unit, nutritional values)
  • Meal timestamps and consumption history

4. Usage Data

We may collect information automatically when You use the Service:

  • Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g., IP address)

  • Mobile device unique ID (if accessing via mobile)
  • Operating system and version (if accessing via mobile)
  • Pages/features visited, time spent, timestamps, and diagnostic data

5. Device Permissions

  • Camera access (for food photography)
  • Photo library access (to select existing food photos)
  • Microphone access (potentially used alongside camera functionality)

How We Use Your Personal Data

We may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  1. To provide and maintain our Service
    Including to monitor the usage of our Service, manage user authentication, and secure user access.
  2. To manage Your Account
    Manage Your registration as a user of the Service. Personal Data You provide can give You access to different functionalities of the Service available only to registered users.
  3. To perform automated analysis (AI/ML)
    Food images and related data may be sent to OpenAI GPT-4 Vision API to identify ingredients and nutritional content. Analysis results are stored in Our Supabase database.
  4. To contact You
    We may contact You by email or other electronic communication regarding updates, product information, or changes to Our Service.
  5. To manage Your requests
    Attend and manage Your requests (such as account deletion or data export) to Us.
  6. For business transfers
    We may use Your information to evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Our assets.
  7. For other purposes
    Such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of Our promotional campaigns, and to improve Our Service, products, services, and user experience.

  • Supabase (PostgreSQL database and storage)
    • User account information
    • Meal and nutritional data
    • Image storage for meal photos
  • OpenAI GPT-4 Vision
    • Food images are sent for AI-based ingredient recognition and nutritional estimation.
  • Authentication Providers
    • Apple Sign-In
    • Google Sign-In
    • Supabase Authentication
  • Subscription Management
    • Superwall integration for subscription offerings and in-app purchase support (with payments processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

We take necessary measures to ensure that these third parties process Personal Data in compliance with relevant data protection laws and regulations.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of Your state, province, or country where data protection laws may differ. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Retention of Your Personal Data

The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. This generally includes:

  • Account and nutritional data: retained until You request deletion or close Your account.
  • Usage Data: retained for internal analysis purposes unless a longer period is required by law or to strengthen the security of Our Service.

Delete Your Personal Data

You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data We have collected about You. You may delete certain information directly within the App settings or by contacting Us.

However, We may retain certain information when We have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so (e.g., for compliance or dispute resolution).

1. Business Transactions

If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred.

Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from individuals under 13. If You are a parent or guardian and become aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone under 13 without verification of parental consent, We will take steps to remove that information.

International Users and GDPR

If You are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, You may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent regulations, including the rights to access, correct, and erase Your Personal Data, to object to processing, and to data portability. Caloria provides estimates and analyses regarding nutritional content. This information is not medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for personalized dietary or medical advice. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy of AI-generated or user-generated data.

Our Service may contain links to external websites or services that are not operated by Us. We strongly advise You to review the Privacy Policy of every site You visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
