Caloria ("Caloria," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information when you use the Caloria mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
Caloria is operated by Diabetes & Endocrine Specialists Inc.
By using Caloria, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.
1. Important Health and Wellness Notice
Caloria is a wellness and nutrition-tracking application. It is designed to help users better understand food intake, calories, macronutrients, habits, and wellness goals.
Caloria is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, or cure of any disease or medical condition. Information provided by Caloria is for general wellness and informational purposes only and should not replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
If you have a medical condition, take prescription medication, are pregnant, have a history of eating disorders, follow a medically prescribed diet, or have questions about your health, you should consult a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet, nutrition, exercise, medication, or weight-management plan.
Use of Caloria does not create a doctor-patient relationship with Caloria, Diabetes & Endocrine Specialists Inc., its owners, advisors, affiliated clinicians, or any healthcare professional.
If you separately receive clinical care from Diabetes & Endocrine Specialists Inc. or any healthcare provider, that clinical relationship is separate from your use of the Caloria consumer app unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the app, and limited technical information from your device.
2.1 Account and Profile Information
If you create an account or sign in, we may collect:
- Name, email address, or account identifier
- Authentication provider information, such as Apple, Google, or email login
- User ID or account ID
- Subscription status and entitlement information
- Profile settings and app preferences
You may also use certain app flows as a guest where available.
2.2 Onboarding and Personalization Information
To personalize your experience, Caloria may ask for information such as:
- Goal, such as weight loss, weight maintenance, eating healthier, or muscle gain
- Age
- Sex or gender selection
- Height
- Current weight
- Target weight
- Activity level
- Exercise frequency
- Diet preference
- Eating challenges and habits
- Weight-loss pace preference
- Food preferences
- Whether you use or plan to use weight-loss medications
- Optional wellness context, such as PCOS, perimenopause or menopause, insulin resistance, thyroid or hormonal concerns, or related selections
Some of this information may be considered sensitive health or wellness information under certain privacy laws.
2.3 Food, Nutrition, and Meal Information
When you use Caloria, we may collect and store:
- Meal logs
- Food names and descriptions
- Portions and serving sizes
- Calories, macronutrients, and nutrition values
- Barcode scans
- Food search terms
- Favorite foods and recent foods
- Meal times and meal categories
- Manual entries and corrections
- AI-generated food analysis results
- Notes or text you enter about meals
2.4 Meal Images and Camera Data
If you use photo-based food analysis, Caloria may process images you submit through the app.
We use meal images to help identify food items, estimate portions, and generate nutrition information. Meal images may be sent to third-party AI service providers, including OpenAI, to perform food recognition and analysis.
We do not intentionally send your name, email address, account credentials, payment information, or other direct personal identifiers to OpenAI with meal images.
You should avoid uploading images that contain faces, personal documents, addresses, credit cards, medical records, or other sensitive information unrelated to food analysis.
2.5 Nutrition Database and Barcode Data
Caloria may use third-party nutrition databases and food data providers, including FatSecret, to retrieve food, barcode, restaurant, packaged-food, and nutrition information.
We may send limited food-related information to these providers, such as:
- Food names
- Search terms
- Barcode numbers
- Meal descriptions
- Food identifiers
- Nutrition lookup requests
We do not send meal images to FatSecret.
We do not intentionally send your name, email address, account credentials, payment information, or direct personal identifiers to FatSecret.
2.6 Health and Activity Data
If you choose to connect Caloria with Apple Health, Google Health Connect, or similar health data platforms, we may collect data that you authorize those platforms to share with Caloria.
This may include:
- Steps
- Exercise or workout activity
- Active energy or calories burned
- Weight or body measurements, if you choose to share them
- Other health or activity data you choose to authorize
Caloria only accesses health and activity data with your permission. You may manage or revoke these permissions through your device settings or the applicable health platform.
Caloria does not sell Apple Health, Health Connect, or similar health-platform data. Caloria does not use this data for advertising or targeted marketing.
2.7 Device, Usage, and Technical Information
We may collect technical and usage information such as:
- Device type and model
- Operating system and app version
- Device identifiers
- IP address
- General location derived from IP address
- App events and feature usage
- Screens viewed and buttons tapped
- Crash logs and diagnostic data
- Performance information
- Referral or attribution information from advertising or app-install campaigns
2.8 Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase a subscription, payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play.
We may receive limited subscription-related information, such as:
- Subscription product ID
- Subscription status
- Trial status
- Renewal status
- Expiration date
- Transaction or receipt identifiers
- Restore-purchase status
We do not receive or store your full credit card number or payment-card details.
2.9 Communications and Support
If you contact us, we may collect:

3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate Caloria
- Personalize your nutrition plan and app experience
- Estimate calorie and macronutrient targets
- Analyze meals using images, text, barcode scans, and food databases

- Support activity-based features, such as steps, exercise, or calorie-burn estimates
- Improve app functionality and user experience
- Maintain subscriptions and entitlement access
- Provide customer support
- Send app notifications, if you allow them
- Debug, monitor, and secure the Services
- Analyze app performance and marketing attribution
- Comply with legal obligations
- Enforce our Terms of Use
- Prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse
4. AI and Automated Processing
Caloria may use artificial intelligence, image recognition, natural language processing, and automated systems to identify foods, estimate portions, calculate nutrition information, and generate app insights.
These systems may make mistakes. Food recognition, portion estimates, calories, macronutrients, and nutrition information may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting meal entries before relying on them.
We do not intentionally send personal identifiers such as your name, email address, account credentials, or payment information to OpenAI for meal image analysis.
5. Third-Party Services We Use
We use third-party service providers to operate, improve, analyze, and support Caloria. These providers may process information on our behalf.
Depending on the features you use, service providers may include:
- AI processing providers, including OpenAI, for meal image and text analysis
- Nutrition database providers, including FatSecret, for food, barcode, and nutrition database information
- Apple App Store and Google Play for subscription purchases and restore purchases
- Authentication providers, such as Apple or Google, if you choose to register or sign in
- Cloud hosting and database providers for storage and app infrastructure
- Analytics and attribution providers for app performance, usage analytics, and install attribution
- Crash reporting providers for bug and crash diagnostics
- Push notification providers for notifications if you enable them
- Customer support providers for support communications
These providers are authorized to process information only as needed to provide services to us, subject to their own terms and privacy obligations.
6. FatSecret and Third-Party Nutrition Data
Some food and nutrition information in Caloria may come from FatSecret or other third-party food databases.
Nutrition data may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or different from the information shown on product labels, restaurant menus, packaging, or manufacturer materials. Ingredients, serving sizes, formulations, and nutrition values may change. You should verify nutrition information before relying on it, including by reviewing product packaging, restaurant information, or other authoritative sources.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information in the following limited circumstances.
7.1 Service Providers
We share information with vendors and service providers who help us operate the app, including cloud hosting, AI processing, nutrition databases, analytics, crash reporting, authentication, payment entitlement processing, and customer support.
7.2 App Store and Payment Providers
If you purchase a subscription, Apple or Google processes your payment. We receive subscription status information but do not receive full payment-card details.
7.3 Health and Activity Platforms
If you connect Apple Health, Google Health Connect, or similar services, Caloria may receive data you authorize those platforms to share.
Caloria does not sell this data and does not use it for advertising or targeted marketing.
7.4 Legal and Safety
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, court order, subpoena, legal process, or governmental request.
We may also disclose information if we believe it is necessary to:
- Protect the rights, safety, or security of Caloria, users, or others
- Investigate fraud, abuse, or security issues
- Enforce our Terms of Use
- Respond to legal claims
7.5 Business Transfers
If Caloria is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or another policy disclosed to you.
7.6 With Your Direction or Consent
We may share information when you direct us to do so or give consent, such as if you connect integrations, export data, contact support, or request that we share information.
8. Sensitive Health and Wellness Information
Caloria may collect wellness-related information such as weight, height, goals, food logs, nutrition data, activity level, medication context, optional health-context selections, and health or activity data you choose to connect.
We use this information to provide and personalize app features. We do not sell sensitive health or wellness information.
Unless separately stated in writing, Caloria is a consumer wellness app. Information you provide in Caloria is handled under this Privacy Policy and is not treated as part of a clinical medical record solely because Diabetes & Endocrine Specialists Inc. operates Caloria.
9. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, improve the app, and protect against fraud or abuse.
Examples:
- Account information is retained while your account remains active.
- Food logs, nutrition history, and progress data may be retained until you delete them or request deletion, subject to legal and operational limits.
- Support communications may be retained for customer service and legal purposes.
- Technical logs may be retained for security, debugging, and analytics.
- Health and activity data you choose to connect may be retained to provide app features until you disconnect the integration, delete the data, delete your account, or request deletion, subject to legal and operational limits.
If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify information as required by applicable law, unless retention is necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, or legitimate business purposes.
10. Your Choices and Controls
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete personal information
- Request a copy of your information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Opt out of certain analytics or marketing communications where available
You may also:
- Delete your account in the app
- Disable camera access through your device settings
- Disable notifications through your device settings
- Disconnect Apple Health, Google Health Connect, or similar integrations through your device settings or the applicable platform
- Manage subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play
- Update certain profile information in the app

11. Account Deletion
You can delete your account using the account deletion feature in the app. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, backup, or legitimate business retention requirements.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play. You must manage or cancel subscriptions through the applicable app store.
12. Push Notifications
If you allow notifications, we may send reminders, app updates, meal logging prompts, progress messages, or other app-related notifications.
You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
13. Camera and Photo Permissions
Caloria may request access to your camera or photos so you can scan meals, upload food images, or use photo-based food analysis.
You can disable camera or photo access through your device settings. If you disable access, some features may not work.
Meal images may be sent to OpenAI or other AI processing providers for food analysis. Meal images are not sent to FatSecret.
14. Apple Health, Health Connect, and Other Health Integrations
Caloria may offer integrations with Apple Health, Google Health Connect, or similar services.
If you choose to connect a health integration, Caloria will only access data you choose to share and only with your permission.
Health integration data may be used to:
- Personalize your experience
- Estimate daily activity
- Display steps, exercise, or calorie-burn information
- Support nutrition and activity insights
- Improve goal tracking
You can manage or revoke permissions through your device settings or the applicable health platform.
Caloria does not use Apple Health, Health Connect, or similar health-platform data for advertising or targeted marketing. Caloria does not sell this data.
15. Analytics, Attribution, and Advertising Measurement
We may use analytics and attribution tools to understand how users find and use Caloria, measure app performance, evaluate onboarding and subscription flows, improve features, and debug issues.
These tools may process limited technical information such as device identifiers, app events, install source, country or region, app version, and general usage patterns.
We do not use sensitive health or wellness information, Apple Health data, or Health Connect data for targeted advertising.
16. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, account credentials, and authentication methods.
17. Children's Privacy
Caloria is not intended for children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Caloria, contact us at caloria@mail.com, and we will take appropriate steps to delete the information.
If applicable law requires a higher minimum age in your jurisdiction, Caloria is not intended for users under that age without appropriate parental or guardian consent.
18. International Users
Caloria is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.
These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your country.

We collect information from you, your device, app stores, authentication providers, connected health platforms if you authorize them, and service providers.
